Atelier Kō is an architectural Astro theme built for small furniture ateliers, craft studios, independent makers, and curated product brands. It presents a complete storefront — homepage, catalogue, product detail pages, studio page, cart, and checkout preview — as mostly static HTML, with small vanilla JavaScript enhancements for catalogue filtering, the product gallery, the cart drawer, and the local cart. No framework runtime ships to the browser.
Key Features
- Built with Astro 7, Tailwind CSS 4, and strict TypeScript
- Split hero with the headline set against a full-height drifting photograph
- Catalogue with client-side category and material filters, price sorting, live result count and an empty state
- Static product pages with a thumbnail-switched gallery, mono spec table, quantity stepper and related pieces
- Slide-in cart drawer that opens on add, with per-line quantity steppers, live subtotal, focus trap and Escape — any control becomes an add-to-cart button with two data attributes
- LocalStorage cart with a full cart page and a two-step checkout preview with formatted card, expiry and CVC inputs
- Centred newsletter band in the footer, reaching every page
- Scroll motion on one IntersectionObserver with four reveal variants, plus scroll-driven CSS for the header and parallax
- Central typed config for name, navigation, footer, contact, currency, delivery rate and promoted products
- Design tokens for every surface, text, accent and hairline colour, plus component classes for buttons, links, chips, fields, steppers and captions
- Self-hosted variable Archivo and IBM Plex Mono — four WOFF2 files, ~93 KB, nothing from a third-party origin
- Astro image pipeline throughout: WebP, explicit dimensions, eager above the fold and lazy below
- Canonical URLs, Open Graph and Twitter cards with image dimensions, a configurable fallback share card, Organization, Product and BreadcrumbList JSON-LD, sitemap and dynamic robots.txt
- Accessible skip link, landmarks, labelled controls, focus-trapped menu and drawer, visible focus rings — verified at zero axe-core violations
- Reduced motion and no-JavaScript both render every page complete and static
- Production-ready static build deployable to any static host
